Welcome to Temple Zero, the central command hub for the professional services of Dr. Nick Beauchesne, and the creative services of his alter ego, Nix Nihil. Here, you may book rune and tarot consultations, musical performances, lectures on esotericism and magical matters, writing workshops, personal English and composition tutoring, and freelance editing.

Nix manifests in many forms. He is a vocalist, performance artist, researcher, poet, essayist, ceremonial magician, rune reader, and Doctor of Letters (University of Alberta). He teaches a course on magical literature (ENGL_103), and has brought his knowledge of magic, mysticism, esotericism, and their influence on English literature to festival-goers through workshops at various music festivals.

Nix’s travels have taken him to music and poetry performances at Burning Man, Shambhala, Astral Harvest, Reign Bough Fiddle, and other community gatherings, especially in Edmonton, Alberta, and Kamloops and Vancouver, BC. On his magical pilgrimages, he has visited Stonehenge and there delivered to the druids of Salisbury a poetic offering for the full moon ceremony of Summer Solstice 2016; he has meditated in the dungeons of Munkholmen in Norway and Alcatraz Island, USA; he has visited the archives of such legendary magicians as Cornelius Agrippa, William Butler Yeats, Aleister Crowley, H.P. Blavatsky, Evelyn Underhill, H.D., Margaret Anderson, and A.R. Orage; and, he has handled one of the oldest known sets of tarot cards, the Visconti deck, during a research trip to Yale University, USA.

Nix is on the cusp of releasing his debut full-length solo electronica album, Cassandra’s Empty Eyes, produced by Darrell Sharp and mastered by Lex Plexus, released through Dark StarChasm Noise Theories.

As a relative newcomer to the poetry and spoken word scene, Nix has yet to publish a full manuscript. But, keep your eyes open for his forthcoming chapbook, Poems from the Alchemists’ Workshop. He has, however, published several short stories and poems in independent magazines like the Vancouver-based Non-Profit Organization to Destroy the World and The Dream Zine out of Edmonton. He was an editor and contributor to Wither and Blossom, an anthology featuring poets from the Master’s and Doctoral programs in the Department of English and Film Studies at the University of Alberta. He also has numerous musical and poetic recordings available at <https://soundcloud.com/nixnihil>.

You can connect with Nix through this website, by email <nix AT nixnihil DOT net>, through Facebook (Nix Nihil, Emissary), Instagram (Nix_Nihil), Twitter (@Nixnihil), and Bandcamp (Nix Nihil).

Thank you for visiting Temple Zero. Nix Nihil looks forward to interacting with you!
